A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

Our Funding

The Boy Scout program (including Cub Scouts and Venturing) is 100% funded by donations and is 99% run by volunteers.

Each Scout does pay an annual registration fee (to cover the price to insure the child) and pays for activities (cost of camp, e.g.). But many great and small costs like acquiring equipment for camp, reserving space to hold events, and operating the offices are all funded by citizens in the community.

This can be done in several ways:

* An outright monetary gift to become a Friend of Scouting

* A purchase of Scout popcorn from a Scout going door-to-door

* Participating in one of the annual fundraising events (sporting clay shooting, adult pinewood derby)

* Making a donation to the endowment or a bequest on behalf of a loved one.

We hope that you can make a tax-deductible donation this year to keep Scouting alive in east-central Illinois and western Indiana!

Seasons of Scouting

Your local Boy Scouts of America have partnered with the Larry Kanfer Photography Studio to create a breathtaking photography series featuring natural scenes from the beloved East Central Illinois Boy Scout camp, Camp Robert Drake (located near Oakwood, IL). Historic Camp Drake has served the youth of the area since 1932 and continues to offer cutting-edge Scout programming with a traditional spirit.
