Pizza Night benefits Scouting |
Your own pack, troop, or crew can win a Pizza Party at your local Monical’s Pizza by encouraging Scouting supporters to attend the community day event on Monday, Oct. 27th. Merit Badge Clinic - Oct 25th! |
The LDS troops of the Champaign area are hosting their annual merit badge clinic on October 25, 2008. This year’s clinic will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 604 W Windsor Rd. in Champaign, IL (north side between Neil and Prospect). The cost of the clinic is $5 per Scout, but is free of charge to Scouts in LDS troops.
Registration is due Oct 15th!

Auction To Benefit Scouting |
The auction will be held in conjunction with the Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Recognition Dinner on February 28, 2009. If you are unable to attend but would like to place a bid, contact John Williams with your maximum bid.
 The premier item at the auction is a Henry Golden Boy “Boy Scouts of America Centennial Edition” licensed rifle. To mark the 100th anniversary of the BSA, this special rifle features the Scout Oath, Scout Law, scrollwork and traditional Boy Scouts of America logo embellishing the receiver, as well as a 100 Years of Scouting logo and Centennial Edition gold filled etchings in the buttstock and forearm. The rifle will be offered in a display case and is serial number BSA-00117 to honor Prairielands Council #117. Suggested retail value: $1100.

Prairielands to Philmont in 2009 |
|
Council Vice-President for Program Ralph Kuchenbrod has gained reservation positions for the 2009 summer at the Philmont Scout ranch in northern New Mexico. For our council contingent, youth and adults will traverse the high mountain back- country for two weeks, from July 29 to August 10, 2009. Applications are being accepted by contacting Mike Graham at mgraham@bsamail.org. Adults will be interviewed to select the leaders of the contingent. Youth can lock in their position with a $100.00 down payment at the Raymond Lee Scout Service Center. |
