Selling candy bars can be a big fundraiser for your Unit! Sales begin Mar 1.
Candy Agreement Form
It is not too late to start a unit Camp Candy Campaign. The best part of the Camp Candy Sale is how easy it can be for your Scouts. It is ideal for event sales, office desktop shops, church activities, and a card-table booth at a sporting event. Make your Scouts visible in public and promote summer camping.
Top selling-Scouts in each district will be awarded to a Camp Drake summer program in 2010. Three hard-working youth from the Prairie Fire District, Indian Trails District, and the Many Streams District will receive a free trip to the summer camping program of their choice at Camp Robert Drake.
Camping & Electronic Prizes are part of the weekly prize drawing. To enter the drawing, Candy Bar chairs must turn in the money for Scouts to become eligible. The drawing tickets will be issued per BOX of candy sold. The weekly deadline is 1:00 pm on Mondays in March (3/8, 3/15, 3/22, & 3/29) at the Raymond Lee Scout Service Center. Once your name is in the drawing, it will be in the hopper until the end of the sale….UNLESS it is selected for one of the over 150 prizes during the sale.
$500 in camperships will again be awarded this year. Five weekly drawings will be held for Scout salesmen to win a $100.00 campership for any of the summer camp programs in the council.
Please help the council office personnel by paying for your candy with a unit check instead of handling of all the dollar bills in the Robeson Scout Shop. PLEASE do not bring large sums of dollar bills to the Raymond Lee Scout Service Center.
Although the snow is still flying, please start planning your summer camping options and promote your schedule to the Scouts and parents so they are aware of the importance of the Camp Candy sale. Each pack and troop should have a summer camping packet with all the details on camp options, prices, and dates.
Sale Tip: Use of Sales Scripts
Give each seller a simple script detailing what to say (and what not to say). Don’t expect everyone to be a natural salesperson. Give them the tools they need to be successful. Emphasize the funds will help pay for summer camping experience.
For picking up additional candy, it is a good idea to call ahead and make arrangements at the location for pick-up. Candy is available at each location, but the amount of product will very greatly throughout the sale.
