PTC -- The Place to Be!

PTC will be held Feb 14, 2009 at Parkland College in Champaign.
Online registration will open this summer!

The Mission of PTC
"The mission of Prairielands Training College (PTC) is to support your leadership skills by providing information through expert teachers and expanding your network of mentors and friends within Scouting. PTC strives to make your experience as a Scouter fun and valuable for both you and the youth you serve.:

What You'll Learn
Examples of classes offered: knot-tying, Cub Scout magic, outdoor cooking, how to work with autistic Scouts, Cub Scout Event Planning, Venturing topics, leadership skills, and many others. New this year is a class on Gender Differences – why he/she does the things that drive you crazy! Finally, you have a chance to figure out the opposite sex. Look at the complete list of classes.

On top of all of this are displays on various Scouting topics and information on places to take Scouts. A Scout Shop with items to purchase is also available. And, don’t forget, there’s coffee and tea!

You'll be learning from Scout experts and professionals with years of experience.

Scholarships Available
We want everyone who is interested to be able to come to Prairielands Training College! Therefore we are offering scholarships this year. Due to the limited number available, once it is approved you will need to register and pay within two weeks. All information will be kept confidential. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2008.

PTC will help Cub Scout Leaders earn awards
One of the requirements for most of the Cub Scout Leader awards is to “participate in a Cub Scout leader pow wow or University of Scouting, or attend at least four roundtables.” Prairielands Training College is the equivalent of a University of Scouting so attending PTC will help you earn the award. ANOTHER great reason to come to Prairielands Training College!
